HISTORY OF TRUSTS:

knightwalka.gif (23976 bytes)

The first "trust" was created when God made a covenant with Adam and Eve and all their decendents to serve as "trustees" of His Creation. The two mandates or conditions were to (1) Multiply and replenish the earth and to (2) subdue (have dominion over) it.

The modern use of trusts began when a Knight would place his lands "in trust" for his family with the church as "trustee" so that if he were killed in battle his family could enjoy the lands rather than having them revert to the King!

The trust arrangement with which people are most familiar is the bank account. Banks act as trustees for every account opened.
